INFORMATIST

Terms of Use

Effective date: August 16, 2026. Plain language, short on purpose.

The service

Informatist is a browser-based business simulation provided free of charge for educational and personal use — for teachers, students, and anyone curious. We intend to keep the classroom program free permanently.

As-is

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It is a game used for learning, not professional business, financial, or investment advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

Acceptable use

We may suspend or terminate sessions that abuse the service, and we may update or discontinue features as the project evolves.

Content and ownership

The simulation, its content, and its branding belong to Informatist. Screenshots and recordings of your own games are yours to use freely — teachers are welcome to use them in class materials.

Privacy

How we handle data is covered in the Privacy Policy. Summary: no student accounts, no tracking, no data sales.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions: admin@informatist.net.

This is a plain-language document; a formally reviewed version may replace it before classroom launch.
